Future Releases

Progress Linux point-releases are scheduled in line with the respective Debian release they are based on. This is a tentative release schedule for 2012.

Version 1.0 (artax)

  • 1.0.7 point-release: 2013-04
  • 1.0.8 point-release: 2013-06
  • ...

Version 1.9 (artax-backports)

  • 1.9.0 release: 2013-04
  • 1.9.1 release: 2013-06
  • ...

Version 2.0 (baureo)

  • 2.0.0 release: 2013-05

Version 2.9 (baureo-backports)

  • 2.9.0 release: 2013-05

The upper-next major release will be Progress Linux 3.0 (chairon) and be based on Debian 8.0 (jessie)).

Lifespan

Progress Linux releases will be supported with security updates as long as the respective Debian release it is based on.

Version 1.0 (artax)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 2.0 (baureo)/7.0 (wheezy) release, means effectively supported until 2014-04 or longer.

Version 1.9 (artax-backports)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 2.0 (baureo)/7.0 (wheezy) release, means effectively supported until 2014-04 or longer.

Version 2.0 (baureo)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 3.0 (chairon)/8.0 (jessie) release, means effectively supported until 2016-04 or longer.

Version 2.9 (baureo-backports)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 3.0 (chairon)/8.0 (jessie) release, means effectively supported until 2016-04 or longer.
